Biography of Honorable Richard Krieger
Education: B.S. Education and M.A. Education New York University
Served in the United States Navy during the Korean War.
The Vice-President of The Marich Associates, Inc., an immigration and consulting firm testing over 31 ,000 people for US Citizenship.
Serves as a member of the Holocaust Task Force of the Palm Beach County School System.
Has served in senior capacities in the United States Government and was a Presidential Appointee of President Ronald Reagan as Executive Director of the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Council and Associate United States Coordinator for Refugee Affairs. Served as an Appointee of President Jimmy Carter as an Advisor to the US. Holocaust Memorial Council and served as a Consultant to the Immigration and Naturalization Service of The Department of Justice. Mr. Krieger is a Member of the National District Attorney’s Association and the Association of Jewish Community Organization Personnel.
Served as an Executive Director in the Jewish Federation movement and as a teacher and team leader of Emotionally Disturbed and Maladjusted Children in the New York City school system. Was a supervisor of the first On The Job Training Program (OJT) in New York City.
As the Associate Coordinator for Refugee Affairs, was responsible for the oversight of a $2 billion yearly refugee budget, chaired two Inter-agency task forces, originated and implemented Operation Moses- the rescue of Ethiopian Jews from the Sudan as well as the Multi-Lateralization of the Soviet minority issue.
Responsible for all US. refugee programs and refugee camps in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
As the Executive Director of the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Council, established the terms of reference for all committees, established the controls for the donated funds, was responsible for the oversight of the $4.5 million yearly operating budget. Represented the United States to the Gathering of Resistance Fighters in Paris 1987. Designed the international agreement policy for the sharing of Holocaust material between nations.
At the I.N.S. established Asylum offices throughout the United States, helped design the I-9 (worker verification) Program and was in charge of interpreters for the Haitian Operation of 1991-1992.
